The future is now

dome

Has anyone noticed how marquees for parties and events have evolved in the 21st century? Witness the domed structure above! It looks like something from a sci-fi movie and is hard to classify. Resembling a giant igloo, the scaffolded dome is designed for events and looks like a smaller version of the permanent ‘biome’ structures created by the Eden Project in Cornwall. Check out these photos on the BBC website. A range of inflatable structures are available for hire on the erento site.

tie1

And while on the subject of futuristic gadgets, how about this extraordinary tie? It might not look any different from a regular tie, but it conceals a hidden full colour video camera (with audio) for surveillance operations. Cheating husbands beware! These ties are much beloved by private detectives investigating spousal infidelity, and by all manner of amateur sleuths for other cloak-and-dagger activities. Available to rent for just 25 pounds a day.
